background

The serene beauty of rural Kansas is shown in my photography with no retouching/ enhancing. The "everyday places" of fields, trees and rural roads are photographed with a painterly feel. Misty mornings and natural lighting add to intriguing compositions and depth of contrast bringing you to a peaceful and endearing place.

Much of my work is photographed in De Soto, where I live on acreage surrounded by fields and Cedar Creek. I also venture out to the Flint Hills, where I’ve hung the Symphony in the Flint Hills Art Exhibit for many years. Last year I took part in a Flint Hills burn capturing some unique photos at dusk that turned into waves of fire.

The past ten years I’ve participated in a variety of juried art shows that include:

State of the Arts-Prairie Village   Art at the Center-Overland Park   Arti Gras-Leawood  Westport Art Show-Kansas City   Somerset Art in the Vines-Paola   Sunflower Artfest-De Soto, Lawrence Art in the Park   Kansas Sampler Festival   Buttonwood Art Space

Maple Leaf Festival   Hollis Winter Art Show    St. Paul School of Theology

Trinity Lutheran Church-Mission   La Salle Street Church-Chicago.

Public Collections:
Hutamaki International, VT Holding Company, Parade of Homes,

Kaw Prarie Church, Overland Park Christian Church,

and several private collections.

I enjoy teaching Art to all ages of children and adults–photography, drawing, painting, and developed
“Art in my Garden” at my home studo. At Blackhawk Community College (Moline, IL)  I taught desktop publishing for five years.

I was employed as a graphic designer for 15 years in advertising/promotions for the

Chicago Tribune/Orlando Sentinel Star.

Scripture is interwoven in many of my pieces, that "Walk you through Scripture."

and I combine photos with songs in Audio Visual Worship.

I helped develop and chaired the Sunflower Artfest in De Soto, and received a grant for developing the De Soto Arts Center.

Presently I publish, write and design Discovering De Soto feature magazine,

teach out of my home studio and enjoy participating in art shows.
